Synopsis:
Brothers and Sisters is a new drama centered on the Walker family living in California. The members of this family have complicated relationships, often fraught with tension. The writers aim to reflect the real-life counterparts of the characters in society. This is a story filled with temptation, deceit, and sorrow.
The focus of Brothers and Sisters touches on the most perplexing aspects of contemporary American life—always facing various pressures and dilemmas, always striving to surpass oneself. Sarah (Rachel Griffiths), a successful vice president of an organization, chooses to return to her family business to balance her career and marriage; Tommy (Balthazar Getty), loyal to his family but indulging in pleasures and romance; Kevin (Matthew Rhys), a lawyer and homosexual, who is cautious about love; Justin (Dave Annable), the youngest sibling, struggling painfully with the trauma of war and drug addiction; and Kitty (Calista Flockhart), a right-wing radio host and television commentator, still seen as a little girl by her father. Through these intriguing characters, the show seeks to reveal what truly matters in a 21st-century American household and how these siblings navigate their differences while balancing their own interests and bridging generational gaps with their parents.
The elder generation includes father William Walker (Tom Skerritt) and mother Nora Holden (Sally Field). As the head of the family, William has had a legendary life and serves as the president of the family business. Nora, on the other hand, is a stubborn woman. Other characters include Saul Holden (Ron Rifkin), Nora's brother and a playboy; Joe (John Pyper-Ferguson), the husband of the eldest daughter Sarah; Julia (Sarah Jane Morris), Tommy's wife; and a mysterious woman (Patricia Wettig) attempting to destroy the Walker family’s business.
