Synopsis:
"Rich Gate" is centered around a prominent family in the banking industry. Everything begins when a conman infiltrates the family and becomes the second son. In the business world, the second son struggles against the first son. Outside of business, both face their own romantic predicaments: the first son marries into a prestigious family but has an extramarital affair with his true love, a female lawyer; the second son loves the third daughter who he has no blood relation with, but they cannot be together due to ethical limits. Is it inevitable for the first son and his half-brother on the surface to oppose each other? The second son feels the value of family affection within this household, but as a conman, he can only choose between benefits and family ties. Will he be moved by family affection or will he choose benefits and ultimately embark on a path of no return? Family affection is innocent, but money tempts sin!
Banker Zhuo Yi Yuan (Louis Koo) mistakenly recognizes conman Sha Fu Lai (Kenneth Tong) as his half-brother Zhuo Yi Ming and helps him become a significant figure in the banking industry. Under the illusion of family affection, Yi Yuan fails to see Fu Lai's sinister intentions, leading to nurturing a tiger that eventually causes harm.
Yi Yuan encounters a riot abroad and gets kidnapped. This humiliating experience drastically changes his personality. Despite repeated attempts by his loving wife He Jue Nian (Miki Tsui) to counsel him, she is unable to help him get over the shadow of shame, which instead drives him towards his old lover Dong Ling Zi (Fiona Sit) seeking comfort. Years of marital affection are shattered in an instant.
After entering the Zhuo family, Fu Lai initially tastes the warmth of family affection and discovers that his beloved is none other than Zhuo Yi Xin (Maggie Cheung), his nominal half-sister. But Yi Xin cannot overcome the moral barriers and suppresses her true feelings for Fu Lai, choosing instead to be with her admirer Gao Tuo Min (Marco Ngai). Fu Lai, unwilling to lose his love or give up wealth, hesitates between emotion and money, ultimately choosing the path of wealth and stepping into the decadent gate of riches.
A series of intense financial battles among passionate men, segments of heart-wrenching and touching entanglements, and scenes of severe ethical challenges are imminent.
