"Great Porcelain Merchants" is set against the backdrop of the late Qing and early Ming dynasties in Jingdezhen, telling the story of the development and rise and fall of China's porcelain merchants and the porcelain industry, represented primarily by the main character Tao Changnan. It also tells of the lifelong love spanning several decades between the protagonist Tao Changnan and Wei Qiuhe. Renowned director Wu Ziniu directs behind the scenes, with Xia Yu and Irene Ngai starring as the lead actors. The participation of other stars such as Zhao Wenshan, Kevin Liu, and Ning Jing adds more depth to this tumultuous yet thrilling historical tale of history and love.
