Plot Summary:
Father-Son Disagreements Often Lead to Friction
Chu Fan and Chu Ci, father and son, could be considered a pair of live adversaries. Father Fan is an old-school man with deep nostalgia for the sixties' strong human connections; Son Ci, on the other hand, is smooth-talking, pursuing fame and fortune, loving new trends, but indifferent to others. The two are completely opposite, thus often leading to friction.
Ci acts as a spokesperson for a tobacco company, using his eloquence to gain the boss's appreciation. Fan disapproves, believing one should not promote smoking just for high salary and position. Ci also resents Fan stubbornly holding onto his average business old-fashioned wonton noodle stall, allowing the old partner Sheng Shi Yi to slack off, and letting his friend Niu Zheng Rong eat for free. To avoid arguments, Ci moves out early, resulting in a cold relationship between father and son.
Later, Fan develops dementia, forcing Ci to move back home to take care of his father, but the two continue to have conflicts. Fan knows that Ci has been appreciated by the city's wealthy Cheng Kun Mian and invited to switch jobs, so he deliberately sabotages it, making Ci extremely frustrated. The Truth Comes Out, Realization of Past Mistakes
In the past, Ci always wanted to get close to Mian to climb the social ladder, but he gradually understands his father's principle of helping others, especially after being rejected by Fen who views him as a profit-driven individual, beginning to have insights. At this moment, Mian discovers Ci is from the future, knowing he will become successful, decides to take drastic measures... Ci realizes he has been used by Mian, trying to stop him, but it’s too late... Meanwhile, Fan also discovers Ci is actually his son from the future, without any blame, firmly trusting him.
