Episode 1:
Chef Kang Baoqi (played by Deng Cuiwen), while accompanying the Prince to deliver the imperial rice to Wuxi, was attacked by starving peasants. Fortunately, Kang managed to persuade the leader of the peasants, Chai Jiu (played by Lai Yiu Cheung), to let them pass in exchange for the imperial rice. Jiang Qiao (played by Yue Hua), the owner of Qingfengnian Rice Company in Wuxi, is a generous man who donated one-third of his fortune to help the famine victims. The Emperor specially sent the Prince to praise him with a rice banquet. Qiao asked his three sons, Biwen (played by Ao Jiannian), Bizheng (played by Ng Cho Tak) and Wu (played by Leung Cheng Ka) to choose gifts as the meeting gift for the Prince. Jiu eventually arrived at Wuxi and accidentally killed Peng Kang's beloved dog, the boss of the Qing Bang. Jiu was brutally beaten as a result.
