Plot Summary of Looking for Name and Surname:
"Looking for Name and Surname" is an episodic drama produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. It tells the story of a group of dedicated amateur detective enthusiasts — The Forgotten Alliance — who investigate murders involving unnamed victims. After the police have given up, the team led by Alex Donovan (Christian Slater) must first identify the victims in order to catch the murderers. These civilian volunteers solve bizarre crimes. Their determination and empathy lead them on a journey filled with individuality and emotion as they restore names to the deceased.
The Forgotten Alliance usually gathers in coffee shops and living rooms to discuss clues, doubts, and information. Each member reveals their motivation and skills, and each has their own deep internal drive. Donovan was once a detective who left the police force after his young daughter went missing. By using his former investigative skills, he can piece together the lives of the victims: retracing their steps and understanding their lives to find out why they died. These amateur detectives must race against time to identify the victims before they are buried as John Does. Their work is to give the victims truth and justice.
Candace Butler (Michelle Borth) is also a volunteer with The Forgotten Alliance. She is a confident and stubborn young woman who helps the alliance identify victims to avoid being overwhelmed by boring and complicated work. Lindsey Drake (Heather Stephens) is a highly adaptable high school science teacher who joined the alliance to atone for her husband's crimes. Walter Bailey (Bob Stephenson), an employee of a famous telephone company, is also an enthusiastic crime investigation lover, sometimes his enthusiasm complicates the investigation. Tyler Davies (Anthony Carrigan) is a street-smart medical school dropout with a love for art. He was court-ordered to join the alliance to complete community service. And Grace Russell (Rochelle Aytes), a resourceful detective from the Chicago Police Department's Homicide Division, who was previously protected by Alex and now serves as the main intermediary between him and the department.
