Synopsis:
Father-son Differences Often Cause Friction
Chu Fan and his son Chu Ci can be described as a pair of live nemeses. Father Fan is warm-hearted and nostalgic for the strong human emotions of the 1960s; Son Ci, on the other hand, is smooth-talking, pursues fame and fortune, loves the latest trends, but shows no concern for others. The two father and son are completely at odds, hence frequent frictions.
Ci works as a spokesperson for a tobacco company, and with his sharp tongue, he has gained the appreciation of his boss. However, Fan disapproves, believing that one should not promote smoking just for high salaries and benefits. Ci also resents Fan for clinging to his average noodle shop business, allowing his old partner Cheng Shiyi to slack off, and letting his friend Niu Zhengrong eat for free. To avoid arguments, Ci moved out early, resulting in a rather cold relationship between father and son.
Later, Fan develops Alzheimer's disease, forcing Ci to move back home to take care of his father, but their conflicts continue. Fan discovers that Ci has been favored by the city's wealthy tycoon Cheng Kunnian, who invites him to switch jobs. Fan deliberately tries to sabotage this opportunity, making Ci extremely frustrated. Just when Ci feels helpless about Fan, he notices his father gradually losing his ability to live independently. Ci considers closing down the noodle shop and placing Fan in an elderly care home. Ci meets Kunian by chance, realizing that Kunian will surely become a wealthy tycoon in the future. If Ci could gain his favor, he would surely rise to prominence. However, it turns out that Kunian deceives employees and is a despicable person. Ci wants to persuade Fan to join forces with Kunian, so they can both become rich together, but Fan disapproves of Kunian's actions and refuses Ci.
False Affection, Reversed Fate
Fen has always disliked Ci and often looks for opportunities to drive him away. To make life easier, Ci pretends to like Fen and starts pursuing her, thinking that once he wins Fen's affection, he can live a comfortable life. At this moment, Kunian discovers that Ci is from the future and learns that he will become successful, thus becoming determined... Ci realizes he has been used by Kunian and attempts to stop him, but it's too late... Meanwhile, Fan also discovers that Ci is actually his son from the future. Despite this, Fan does not blame him and firmly trusts him. Ci is deeply grateful to Fan and feels responsible for addressing the matter.
