Synopsis:
This is a story about people around the world who discover they have extraordinary superpowers and attempt to use these powers to change their lives.
The producer of Heroes, Brian Fuller, stated that the season finale of Season 3 will set the tone for the stories in Season 4. "We spent a lot of time discussing with the writers how the plot of Season 4 should develop. Basically, the last episode of this season, which is Episode 25, is very similar to previous finales, meaning it will open a new chapter for Heroes."
Main character settings:
An Indian genetics professor, after his father went missing, he arrived in New York and began exploring a mysterious theory - perhaps some ordinary people possess superpowers.
A dreamer, trying to persuade his politician brother to believe he can fly.
A high school cheerleader, discovering she is impervious to injury.
A Las Vegas stripper, discovering she can teleport and be at two different places simultaneously.
A prisoner wakes up to find himself mysteriously outside the prison walls.
A talented painter whose life and relationship with his girlfriend were ruined by drugs, yet discovers he can depict future events.
A policeman who seems to solve cases purely by luck but actually has the power to read minds.
In Japan, a young man can stop time purely through telekinetic force.
When the shadow of an eclipse falls on Earth, an Indian genetics professor discovers a shocking secret due to his father's mysterious disappearance: superpowers are hidden within many ordinary people. A young dreamer, 30-year-old Peter Petrelli tries to prove to his novelist brother that he can fly; 17-year-old high school cheerleader Claire Bennet finds herself completely immune to physical harm; 33-year-old Las Vegas stripper Niki Sanders struggles to support her son and discovers she can alter her reflection in the mirror; 31-year-old D.L. Hawkins fools the prison authorities twice because he possesses the ability to walk through walls; 28-year-old artist Diego Medina, an addict whose drug addiction destroyed his life and love, but when high, he can vividly portray future scenes through his brush; Los Angeles patrol officer Matt Parkman, who, due to his superpower of hearing people's thoughts, is assigned to hunt down a cunning serial killer; 24-year-old Japanese comic enthusiast Hiro Makamura can freeze time through wishing.
Where do these superpowers come from? What does it mean for these superhuman heroes? When enemies seeking to exploit their superpowers for their own sinister plans appear, these superpowered heroes instinctively gather together to fight against common foes and also to save the entire world.
"Heroes" is NBC's latest sci-fi TV series launched in September 2006. Heroes focuses on various humans with special abilities around the world and unfolds the whole story centered on them. Initially, the protagonists of Heroes lived ordinary lives like everyone else but gradually realized they had certain traits.
With ambitions to make a comeback, Heroes continues to recruit talent for Season 4. Ray Park ("The Phantom Menace," "X-Men") will play a "knife-thrower" with superpowers; Deannne Bray ("The L Word") will play a deaf woman with superpowers; Robert Knepper ("Prison Break") will play a villainous character with superpowers, appearing in at least six episodes. As previously reported, Madeline Zima ("Californication") will play Claire's college roommate, who also has superpowers.
Meanwhile, rumors persist that the show's soul figure Bryan Fuller might leave the production team to work on another NBC series (possibly "Day One" or "Caprica"). If the rumors are true, Heroes may lose its last hope. Currently, Bryan Fuller serves as the "production consultant" for Heroes.
Executive Producer Tim Kring revealed basic details about Season 4. He said one of the themes of Season 4 would be discussing the question of how superhumans "should live" - should they hide their powers and keep their heads down, or should they reveal their powers openly and live honestly?
Tim Kring said the storyline of Season 4 would center around Claire. Claire attends university in Washington, her parents are separated, and she has to deal with "mysterious suicides" happening on campus (a Veronica Mars-style route?). The "roommate" played by Madeline Zima undoubtedly plays a crucial role in this plot.
Tim Kring said Peter Petrelli would distance himself from family and friends, becoming a "lone ranger" saving others, much like Batman in "The Dark Knight." Peter will encounter a new "love interest" this season, and this powerful woman will change his life and destiny.
Sylar will eventually "shed" Nathan Petrelli's "skin"; Matt Parkman's grudges with Sylar prevent him from living a normal life with his wife and children. Angela Petrelli and HRG may establish a new "Company," but it won't be as radical as the previous one. And Hiro may significantly reduce the number of time travels in Season 4 (or even stop using it altogether).
