Synopsis:
"Rich Gate" revolves around a large family involved in the banking industry, with everything starting when a con artist infiltrates the family and becomes the second son. In the business world, the second son struggles against the eldest son. Outside of business, both face their own romantic dilemmas: The eldest son marries a woman from a prestigious family but has an extramarital affair with his true love, a female lawyer; the second son deeply loves the third sister who is not related by blood, yet they cannot be together due to ethical boundaries. Can the apparent half-brothers only confront each other? Within this family, the second son experiences the value of familial bonds but, as a con artist, he must choose between profit and family ties. Will he be moved by familial affection or will he ultimately choose profit and tread down a path of no return? Family ties are without sin, but money tempts to sin!
Banker Zhuo Yiyuan (Lui Kay-wai) mistakenly identifies con artist Sha Fula (Luo Jialiang) as his half-brother Zhuo Yi Ming and helps him become a significant figure in the banking world. Under the guise of family ties, Yiyuan fails to recognize Fula's malicious intentions, leading to nurturing a tiger that eventually harms him.
Yiyuan encounters a riot abroad and gets kidnapped. This difficult experience drastically changes his personality. Despite repeated attempts by his loving wife He Juenian (Keem Chow) to guide and comfort him, she is unable to help him overcome the shadow of shame, pushing him towards his old lover Dong Lingzi (Gigi Leung) for solace. Years of marital affection are shattered.
After entering the Zhuo family, Fula initially tastes the warmth of family ties and discovers that his beloved is actually his nominal half-sister Zhuo Yixin (Cecilia Fong). However, constrained by moral boundaries, Yixin suppresses her true feelings for Fula and instead turns to her admirer Gao Tuomin (Marco Chan). Fula, unwilling to lose his love or abandon wealth, hesitates between emotion and money, ultimately choosing the path of wealth and stepping into the decadent "Rich Gate."
A series of intense financial battles among passionate men, entangled love stories filled with passion and sorrow, and severe ethical tests loom like arrows on the string.
