Introduction to The Good Wife:
This series is CBS's most popular new show this year, starring Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies, known for her outstanding performances in "ER", "Mists of Avalon", and "The Lost Room". The story mainly describes the situation after politician Peter (Chris Noth) is imprisoned for sexual scandals and political scandals. His wife Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) has to end her life as a "housewife" and independently take on the responsibility of supporting the family. Putting aside her husband's betrayal and negative public influence, just the strange looks from others are enough to make Alicia, such an official's wife, too ashamed to leave home. However, Alicia is not intimidated by difficulties; she not only steps out but also resumes her pre-marriage career - defense attorney.
As a junior partner at a well-known Chicago law firm, Alicia is welcomed by her old friend Will Gardner (Josh Charles). Will was Alicia's classmate when she studied law and is also a senior member of this law firm. He is delighted to see Alicia return and wants to see how this once powerful woman will perform in court after thirteen years. Alicia also benefits from the strong promotion and guidance of top litigation lawyer Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) in the company, which makes her feel honored and grateful. But she soon discovers that these "guidances" come with conditions; Diane isn't as "enthusiastic" as she appears. To achieve success, Alicia can only rely on herself.
Alicia's main competitor in the company is a young man in his twenties named Cary (Matt Czuchry). He recently graduated from Harvard University and appears very friendly on the surface. In fact, to ensure his position in the company and obtain the coveted "senior partner" position, he spares no effort. If Alicia becomes his obstacle, he will hesitate not to remove her. Fortunately, Alicia is not alone in the company; Kalinda (Archie Panjabi), who is responsible for investigation work, is Alicia's strongest supporter.
"Be confident every day," Alicia understands the meaning of this phrase. From being a despised politician's wife to becoming a reinvigorated professional woman, the road may be long, but Alicia doesn't care. She wants to live for herself and plan ahead for her 14-year-old son Zach (Graham Phillips) and her 13-year-old daughter Grace (Makenzie Vega). For so many years, Alicia feels for the first time that fate is in her own hands; she is no longer the weak, manipulable "good wife," but a free woman.
