Introduction to the plot of "Snail House":

Since graduating from university and settling in Shanghai, Guo Haiping has been determined to save up enough money for a down payment on a house. But after looking around, none of the houses could meet her satisfaction. Haiping and her husband Su Chun have lived in a rented apartment of only about ten square meters for five years. From falling in love, getting married, to the birth of their daughter Ranran, all these events took place in this small apartment. The sudden arrival of their child already made the couple frantic, and with the help of Grandma, this space became even more cramped. Haiping had no choice but to let her mother take Ranran back to their hometown for care while she immediately returned to work, continuing to save money for buying a house. Despite the distance between her and Ranran, Haiping's longing for her daughter grew day by day. To save money, she cut back on her own expenses, even limiting the time she spent on long-distance calls and the frequency of her visits home, but the deep concern in her heart could not be restrained. For nearly three years, Guo Haiping endured a life of frugality and hardship apart from Ranran.

Finally, Guo Haiping could wait no longer as Ranran was starting to barely recognize her. Determined to bring her daughter back, Haiping decided to buy a house immediately. However, times have changed; the skyrocketing housing prices in Shanghai had placed their savings far from the required down payment. Besides their savings, Haiping planned for both her and Su Chun to ask their respective parents for some additional funds. Still short by 20,000 yuan, she reluctantly approached her younger sister, Guo Hailao. Seven years younger than Haiping, Hailao had always lived side by side with her sister, sharing everything without distinction. Without hesitation, Hailao gave her sister her entire deposit of 8,000 yuan, and when it wasn't enough, she asked her boyfriend, Xiao Bei, to contribute the money they had saved for their wedding. Haiping selected a brand-new apartment, waiting only for the funds from Su Chun's family to arrive so the down payment could be made. Su Chun was conflicted inside; on one hand, he felt that his family's financial situation was poor and saving money was difficult. Not only had he failed to fulfill his filial duty, but he also had to ask his parents for more money, making it hard for him to bring himself to do it. On the other hand, his wife repeatedly urged him, stating that paying the down payment would free them from their housing predicament. In the end, Su Chun did not ask his family for money. Instead, the usually honest and straightforward man opted for high-interest loans from friends, secretly concealing the source of the money from Haiping. Su Chun never imagined how much change this loan, taken out under duress, would bring to their family and the surrounding relatives. When Guo Haiping discovered that 60,000 yuan of the down payment came from high-interest loans borrowed by her husband, she almost went crazy, despairingly wanting to divorce Su Chun. Since childhood, it was always Haiping who shielded her younger sister from hardships. Now, completely overwhelmed by the stress of the housing payment, Haiping seemed close to breaking point. Hailao believed that this time, she must step forward to support her sister and prevent her from collapsing. However, Xiao Bei thought differently; he refused to provide more money to Haiping, claiming it was the price of her vanity. Xiao Bei couldn't understand what Hailao felt inside. From the moment her parents unexpectedly bore the burden of violating family planning regulations and brought her into this world, Guo Hailao has been an extra life. It was because of her sister that she was allowed to live, and it was her sister who had carefully looked after her for twenty-five years. In short, this bond was such that Hailao would willingly die for her sister. Driven by urgency and anger, Hailao bit her lip and sought a loan from Song Siming. Although she and Mr. Song had only met a few times at social gatherings, once Hailao asked, Song Siming readily agreed. For Song Siming, the 60,000 yuan that troubled the Guo sisters was nothing significant. At this moment, his eyes were solely focused on Guo Hailao, the enchanting young woman who occupied his dreams, though Hailao was unaware of all this. At that time, Hailao only knew that to help her sister out of trouble, she was willing to do anything...
