TVB The Game of Thrones Episode 23 Plot Summary:

The 2009 TVB October anniversary production, "The Game of Thrones," is a full-length period drama set in the Tang Dynasty, starring Charmaine Sheh, Karl Yue, and Fiona Yim.

Synopsis:

Set against the backdrop of the Tang Dynasty's imperial palace, the story revolves around the power struggles within the four departments responsible for preparing the Empress's attire. Focusing on the intrigue and machinations of women in the inner court, the drama follows the journey of the palace maid Liu Sanhao (Charmaine Sheh), who, through her philosophy of "having good intentions, saying kind words, and doing good deeds," rises to prominence amidst the complex and treacherous environment of the palace. Her relationship with co-star Karl Yue develops into a romantic storyline reminiscent of the love between Dae Jang Geum and Minister Min.

Liu Sanhao (played by Charmaine Sheh) and Yao Jinling (played by Fiona Yim) are sworn sisters in the palace, both serving as lowly maids and often at the beck and call of others. The inner court is governed by four powerful departments: the Department of Food led by Tan Yan Chang (played by Rebecca You), the Department of Embroidery headed by Zhong Xue Xia (played by Snow Lee), the Department of Decorations overseen by Hu Su En (played by Queenie Lau), and the Department of Jewelry managed by Ruan Cui Yun (played by Julia Chan). These four factions constantly vie for power and position, leading to endless conflict. In the midst of these struggles, the innocent Sanhao and Jinling are forced to become scapegoats. Despite enduring numerous hardships, Sanhao remains steadfast in her principles, while Jinling, after being repeatedly mistreated, sets out on a path of revenge. Seizing an opportunity while attending to Emperor Li Yi (played by Aaron Kwok), Jinling secretly seduces him, eventually becoming Consort Li. She then engages in a fierce rivalry with Consort Wan Baoxian (played by Emily Li).

Meanwhile, Sanhao, with her clever hands and resourceful mind, rises to become the Chief Palace Maid. As both Sanhao and Jinling gain significant influence, their sisterly bond fractures when it is revealed that they both harbor feelings for the palace guard Gao Xianyang (played by Karl Yue). Jinling seeks retribution against the four departments, but Sanhao chooses forgiveness and strives to protect them. This decision becomes the basis for Jinling’s subsequent schemes to harm Sanhao...
