Plot Introduction:

"Gate of Fortune" revolves around a wealthy family in the banking industry. Everything starts when a cardsharp infiltrates the family and becomes the second son. In the business world, the second son battles with the eldest son. Outside of business, both face their own romantic dilemmas: the eldest son marries a noblewoman but has an extramarital affair with his true love, a female lawyer; the second son deeply loves the third daughter who shares no blood relation with him, yet they cannot be together due to ethical boundaries. Is it inevitable for the eldest son and his half-brother to oppose each other? In this family, the second son feels the value of kinship, but as a cardsharp, he must choose between interests and family ties. Will he be moved by family affection or will he succumb to greed and tread a path of no return? Family bonds are innocent, but money tempts sin!

Banker Zhuo Yiyuan (Michael Lui) mistakenly recognizes cardsharp Sha Fuli (Kenneth Luo) as his half-brother Zhuo Yi Ming and helps him become a prominent figure in the banking world. Blinded by familial bonds, Yiyuan fails to see Fuli's malicious intentions, thus nurturing a tiger that eventually causes harm.

Yiyuan is kidnapped during a riot abroad, and this traumatic experience drastically changes his personality. His loving wife He Juenian (Kate Tsui) tries repeatedly to counsel him, but she can't help him overcome the shadow of shame, pushing him towards his old lover Dong Lingzi (Fiona Sit) for comfort. Years of marital affection are shattered in an instant.

After entering the Zhuo family, Fuli first tastes the warmth of family bonds and discovers that his beloved one is none other than his nominal half-sister Zhuo Yixin (Cecilia Fong). However, constrained by moral barriers, Yixin suppresses her true feelings for Fuli and instead turns to Gao Tuomin (Marcus Ma), who adores her. Fuli refuses to lose his love and doesn't want to give up wealth, hesitating between emotion and money. Ultimately, he chooses the path of wealth, stepping into the decadent Gate of Fortune.

A series of intense financial battles among passionate men, entangled stories of love and hate, and severe tests challenging ethics are all set like arrows on the string.
