Plot Summary:
The story of "Desperate Housewives" begins with the suicide of Mary Alice Young, who dies to cover up a shocking secret. In each episode, she narrates her friends' lives from the perspective of an outsider, which is one of the highlights of the show's production. Her friends include: Susan Mayer, a single divorced mother whose romantic life has been fraught with difficulties; Lynette Scavo, a mother overwhelmed by balancing career and family; Bree Van De Kamp, a widow raising two problematic children; Gabrielle Solis, a former model who has everything many women dream of - a wealthy husband, a mansion, luxury cars - but struggles to find happiness in marriage. And then there's Edie Britt, a real estate agent who has been married multiple times and whose love life is also a mess.
In the new season, young actress Maiara Walsh will become a regular cast member. She made guest appearances as the teenager Ana Solis in the last two episodes of the previous season and had conflicts with Gabrielle.
In the poster, Bree holds a teacup, Gaby pushes a vacuum cleaner, Lynette holds a teddy bear, Susan holds an apple, and Katherine holds a toaster. These items may hint at changes in the characters for the new season.
Previously, we learned that a new family will move into Wisteria Lane to replace Edie, played by Nicollette Sheridan, who left in the previous season. The new housewife is named Angie Vitale and is portrayed by Drea de Matteo. She has a handsome young son named Danny Bolen, played by Beau Mirchoff. He first starts a relationship with a nearby gay couple and then develops a romance with Julie, Susan's daughter, who returns in this season.
Julie will make a full comeback in Season 6. In the previous season, Julie was barely seen as she supposedly went to college. Actress Andrea Bowen, who plays Julie, will become a regular cast member in the next season and will appear in the premiere episode on September 27.
