The 2009 TVB October anniversary grand production ancient costume drama "The Glory of Tang Palace" complete series, starring Charmaine Sheh, Frankie Ng, and Tracy Yang.
Plot Summary:
Set against the backdrop of the Tang Dynasty court, it tells the story of the power struggles within the four departments responsible for preparing the Empress's attire. Using the Tang Dynasty harem as its setting, it delves into the affairs and schemes of the women in the harem. Charmaine Sheh plays the palace maid Liu Sanhao, who relies on her "three good" spirit - having a good heart, speaking well, and doing good deeds - to rise above the complex palace struggles and develops a romantic relationship with her "rumored couple" Frankie Ng that resembles the love between Dae Jang Geum and Minister Min.
Liu Sanhao (Charmaine Sheh) and Yao Jinling (Tracy Yang) are a pair of sworn sisters in the palace. As young palace maids, they are frequently ordered around. At the time, the harem was controlled by four departments: the Department of Food led by Tan Yanshang (Rebecca Chan), responsible for delicious food; the Department of Embroidery led by Zhong Xuexia (Sally Yeh), responsible for embroidered garments; the Department of Decorations led by Hu Su'en (Cally Yu); and the Department of Jewelry led by Ruan Cuiyun (Stella Kwan). These four departments constantly vie for power and position, leading to endless conflicts. Innocent Sanhao and Jinling are even forced to become scapegoats. Despite enduring countless hardships, Sanhao remains steadfast in her "three good" spirit, whereas Jinling, after being bullied repeatedly, decides to seek revenge. During one occasion while serving Emperor Li Yi (Aaron Pai), Jinling secretly seduces him, eventually becoming Consort Li, and starts to compete with Consort Xian Wan Baoxian (Emily Li). Meanwhile, Sanhao also rises to become the Chief Superintendent due to her cleverness and talent. When both Sanhao and Jinling hold significant power, their sisterly bond breaks down. It turns out that both have feelings for the palace guard Gao Xianyang (Frankie Ng). Jinling seeks to punish the four departments, but Sanhao chooses to repay evil with kindness and strives to protect the four. Jinling then uses this situation to persecute Sanhao...
