Plot Summary:
"Heaven and Earth" tells the story of Colonel Tang Xinsheng of a certain military unit who encounters a massive earthquake during an exercise. With communication cut off and losing contact with his superiors, he takes disaster relief as the highest order and resolutely leads his troops through numerous dangers to rush to the hardest-hit Yingchuan County for life-and-death rescue operations. Unlike traditional disaster rescue films, "Heaven and Earth" always focuses on the rescuers in the disaster. Through the depiction and portrayal of the People's Liberation Army, it showcases the heroic spirit of the soldiers who are not afraid of sacrifice and their rich and delicate inner world.
"Heaven and Earth" is the last part of the August First Studio's major realistic theme "Three Surprises" series ("Surging Waves", "Heart-stopping", "Heaven and Earth").
