After ten years of marriage, Su Yun's family goes out for a trip and meets Ziwen's old friend Xie Yongkang after ten years apart. Overjoyed at the reunion, Ziwen is ecstatic, but Su Yun feels very uneasy. Ten years ago, on the wedding day of Ziwen and Su Yun, Yongkang burst into the bride’s dressing room and confessed his deep love for Su Yun, only to be slapped and driven away from this city by Su Yun.
Seeing Su Yun again, Yongkang can no longer suppress the emotions that have been entangled for ten years. He decides to accept his father's invitation and return to this city to take over as the general manager of Yunpeng Group.
Yongkang's decision brings hope to his father's designated fiancée, Wu Yuwei. She has endured humiliation for years following him because she hopes to become the mistress of Yunpeng Group and revitalize her own family. But Fang Qin's plans are ruined; she has been plotting for her son Yongjian to take over.
Upon returning from their trip, Ziwen suddenly faces a debt crisis. His business was defrauded, the company is on the brink of bankruptcy, and even his house is in jeopardy. Knowing this, Yongkang half-seriously proposes to Su Yun: if she spends one night with him, he will help her get through the difficulties. Su Yun firmly rejects it.
Misfortunes never come singly. At this critical moment, Ziwen gets into a car accident and needs surgery or his life will be in danger, but Su Yun doesn't have the money to pay for the surgery fee. There is nothing more important than her husband's life, so Su Yun knocks on Yongkang's door.
Yongkang kept his word, not only paying the surgery fee as agreed, but also helping Ziwen's company overcome its difficulties.
After Ziwen recovers, his family seems to return to the warmth of the past, except for Su Yun who hides secrets and is worried all the time, and Yongkang who is deeply in love and suffering more deeply.
Ziwen is grateful for Yongkang's help, but when Yuwei, invited by Ziwen to visit his home with Yongkang, starts to suspect Su Yun. It turns out that on that night, Yuwei followed Su Yun and saw her enter Yongkang's room.
Yuwei uses this to threaten Yongkang to marry her quickly. Both Yuwei and Su Yun think everything will pass, but unexpectedly, this matter causes a huge uproar.
Knowing that he is the root cause of his wife's irreversible downfall, Ziwen falls into despair. Under Su Yun's plea, Ziwen decides to forget the past and start anew. However, while Ziwen says he doesn’t care, he cannot let go in his heart. The couple relationship appears respectful on the surface, but inside it is already riddled with wounds.
When Yongkang realizes that Su Yun becomes less happy because of him, he decides to give up Su Yun and marry Yuwei.
Su Yun discovers once again that Ziwen is self-destructing. To protect Ziwen's health, Su Yun proposes divorce.
Because of Su Yun's divorce, Yongkang cancels the wedding. This causes a big storm in the Xie family, and Fang Qin seizes the opportunity to let her son Yongjian replace Yongkang. However, Yongjian finds out that he is not actually Xie Yunpeng's biological child. Learning the truth, he resents Xie Yunpeng's hypocrisy and vows to seize Yunpeng Group.
Yuwei loses face completely. In her distress, she encounters someone even more disturbing - Dr. Xu Youbang and his daughter Nana. Originally, when she was a rich Hong Kong lady visiting the mainland, she met the handsome Xu Youbang, had an affair, and gave birth to a daughter. Provoked by Fang Qin, Xie Yunpeng angrily expels Yongkang from the house.
Fang Qin lets Yongjian immediately take control of Yunpeng Group.
After a sincere conversation with Yongkang, Xie Yunpeng accepts Su Yun and immediately transfers the inheritance rights to Yongkang. Fang Qin and Yongjian are just one step away from achieving their goal, but the property they were about to obtain vanishes, driving Yongjian insane.
The two pairs preparing for their weddings, Yongkang and Ziwen, coincidentally meet. On the verge of madness, Yongjian comes to tell them everything that happened that night: at the time, Yongkang hesitated. He carried the drunk Su Yun to bed and left the hotel, walking in the drizzling streets to clear his mind. Coincidentally, Yongjian found the drunk Su Yun and decided to drug Yongkang's water. When Yongkang returned and fell for the trick, Yongjian carried him to bed and took photos of them.
Everyone is shocked! Especially Ziwen and Su Yun. But at this point, they cannot abandon the upcoming wedding.
