Series Overview:
"Brothers & Sisters" is a new drama centered around the Walker family living in California. The members of this family have complicated and often strained relationships with each other. Through this show, the writers aim to reflect real-world counterparts of the characters. It's a story filled with temptation, deception, and sorrow.
The series tackles some of the most perplexing aspects of modern American life – constant pressures and difficult choices, as well as the desire to constantly surpass oneself. Sarah (Rachel Griffiths), a successful vice president of an organization, chooses to return to her family business to balance her career and marriage; Tommy (Balthazar Getty), loyal to his family but always found enjoying the company of women; Kevin (Matthew Rhys), a lawyer who is gay and cautious about love; Justin (Dave Annable), the youngest sibling struggling with war trauma and drug addiction; and Kitty (Calista Flockhart), a right-wing radio host and television commentator, still seen as a little girl by her father. Through these intriguing characters, the show explores what matters most to a 21st-century American family and how siblings navigate their differences while trying to bridge generational gaps with their parents.
The senior members of the family are father William Walker (Tom Skerritt) and mother Nora Holden (Sally Field). As the head of the household, William has had a legendary life and is also the president of the family business. Nora is a strong-willed woman. Other characters include Saul Holden (Ron Rifkin), Nora Holden's brother and a ladies' man; Joe (John Pyper-Ferguson), husband of the eldest daughter Sarah; Julia (Sarah Jane Morris), Tommy's wife; and a mysterious woman (Patricia Wettig) who tries to destroy the Walkers' business.
