Plot Introduction:
"Sanctuary" Season 2 will premiere on October 10th. The new season will showcase more "non-humanoid creatures," more historical legends and secrets related to these creatures, and many familiar historical figures will make appearances. In the special "time travel episode," we will also catch a glimpse of the "future" versions of all main characters - albeit just briefly. Season 2 will continue the "vampire story" initiated in Season 1 and expand it. "The second season begins six weeks after the end of the first season," said Executive Producer Damian Kindler in an interview. "The start of Season 2 is grand and shocking; Episode 3 will have moments that bring tears to viewers' eyes; the climactic ending of Season 2 will be even more gripping than that of Season 1."
Amanda Tapping added that the opening of Season 2 will consist of two episodes (aired over two weeks). "There will be significant changes within the sanctuary," she said, "and Episode 3 attempts to correct these changes." The biggest change in Season 2 is the addition of a new regular character - Kate Freelander, and Henry's role in the story will be greatly enhanced with increased screen time. The relationship between Druitt and Magnus will change, as will the relationship between Magnus and Will.
Damian Kindler said his favorite episode in Season 2 is the "time travel episode," which shows the future lives of the main characters. "Maybe I shouldn't tell you," he joked.
But Damian Kindler still described some details of this episode: "Perhaps one of the abnormal species we encounter has the ability to foresee the future. This event must be related to time travel. Dr. Magnus has lived for a long time (158 years), so we can go back and see the history she has experienced, the famous people she has met. Of course, we can also take a look at the future."
