Prosperity Gate Episode 07 (Mandarin Version) Plot Summary:
TVB's October anniversary drama series "Prosperity Gate" in its entirety, also known as "Money Temptation."
Plot Introduction:
"Prosperity Gate" revolves around a prominent family in the banking industry. The story begins with a con artist infiltrating the family and becoming the second son. In the business world, the second son competes fiercely with the eldest son. Outside of work, both sons face their own romantic dilemmas: the eldest son marries into a prestigious family but has an extramarital affair with a female lawyer he truly loves; the second son deeply loves the third sister who shares no blood relation with him, but they cannot be together due to ethical boundaries. Can the eldest son and his half-brother only be adversaries? Meanwhile, the second son discovers the value of family affection within this household but, as a con artist, must choose between profit and family ties. Will he be moved by familial bonds or succumb to greed and embark on a path of no return? Family is not sinful, but money tempts sin!
Banker Chak Yat-yuen (Lui Cheung-wai) mistakenly identifies con man Sa Fu-lai (Luo Jialiang) as his half-brother Chak Yat-ming and supports him until he becomes a significant figure in the banking industry. Under the guise of family affection, Yat-yuen fails to see Fu-lai's hidden ill intentions, resulting in nurturing a tiger that eventually turns against him.
Yat-yuen is kidnapped during a riot abroad, and this harrowing experience drastically changes his personality. Despite repeated attempts by his loving wife Ho Cheuk-nin (Chik Mei Chun) to counsel him, she is unable to help him overcome the shadow of shame, which drives him to seek comfort in his old lover Tang Ling-zi (Kwok Ho-wing). Years of marital affection are shattered.
After entering the Chak family, Fu-lai initially experiences the warmth of family affection and discovers that his beloved is none other than his nominal half-sister Chak Yat-sam (Yuan Ying Yi). However, Yat-sam, constrained by moral barriers, suppresses her true feelings for Fu-lai and instead chooses her admirer Ko Toc-man (Ma Dek Chong). Unwilling to lose the one he loves and reluctant to give up wealth, Fu-lai wavers between emotion and money, ultimately choosing the path of wealth and stepping into the decadent gate of prosperity.
A series of intense financial battles among passionate men, entangled love stories filled with passion and sorrow, and severe ethical tests await like arrows on the string.
