The 2009 TVB October anniversary production of the full set of episodes of the historical drama "Palace Heart Wars", starring Charmaine Sheh, Kit Tong, and Yoyo Yang.
Plot Summary:
Set against the backdrop of the Tang Dynasty court, the story tells of the open rivalry within the four chambers responsible for preparing the Empress's attire. With the Tang Dynasty harem as its setting, it reveals the intricacies and schemes of the women in the harem. Charmaine Sheh plays the role of the palace maid Liu Sanhao, who relies on the "three good" principles of "having a good heart, speaking well, and doing good deeds" to rise above the complex power struggles in the harem. She also develops a romantic relationship with Kit Tong that resembles the love between Dae Jang Geum and Min Jung Ho.
Liu Sanhao (Charmaine Sheh) and Yao Jinling (Yoyo Yang) are sworn sisters in the palace, serving as junior maids and frequently being assigned tasks. The harem is controlled by four departments: the Department of Food headed by Yan Chang Tan (Michelle Ye), the Department of Embroidery led by Xue Xia Zhong (Snowie Tam), the Department of Decorations managed by Su En Hu (Celia Qu), and the Department of Jewelry overseen by Cuiyun Ruan (Julie Guan). These four vie for power and position, leading to constant conflict. Innocent Sanhao and Jinling become scapegoats in these power struggles. Despite enduring numerous hardships, Sanhao remains steadfast in her "three good" principles, while Jinling, having suffered much abuse, seeks revenge. During an opportunity to serve Emperor Li Yi (Christopher Cheng), she secretly seduces him, becoming Consort Li. She then engages in a power struggle with Consort Wan Baoxian (Emily Li). Meanwhile, Sanhao, with her clever hands and ingenious mind, rises to become the head of the palace quarters. When both Sanhao and Jinling gain significant influence, their sisterly bond breaks due to their mutual affection for the palace guard Gao Xianyang (Kit Tong). While Jinling seeks to punish the four departments, Sanhao chooses to repay their enmity with kindness, striving to protect them all. Jinling uses this to further persecute Sanhao...
