Synopsis:
Brothers and Sisters is a new drama centered on the Walker family living in California. The members of this family have complex and often strained relationships with each other. The writers attempt to reflect real-world archetypes through the characters. This is a story filled with temptation, deception, and sorrow.
Brothers and Sisters delves into the most confusing aspects of contemporary American life—always facing pressures and difficult choices, always striving to surpass oneself. Sarah (Rachel Griffiths), a successful vice president of an organization, chooses to return to the family business to balance her career and marriage; Tommy (Balthazar Getty), loyal to his family but constantly indulging in pleasure and romance; Kevin (Matthew Rhys), a cautious lawyer dealing with his homosexuality; Justin (Dave Annable), the youngest sibling struggling with war trauma and drug addiction; and Kitty (Calista Flockhart), a right-wing radio host and television commentator who remains Daddy's little girl. Through these intriguing characters, the show explores what matters most to a 21st-century American family and how the siblings navigate their differences while balancing their interests and bridging generational gaps with their parents.
The elders of the family are father William Walker (Tom Skerritt) and mother Nora Holden (Sally Field). As the head of the family, William has lived a legendary life and serves as the president of the family business. Mother Nora is a strong-willed woman. Other characters include Saul Holden (Ron Rifkin), Nora's brother and a playboy; Joe (John Pyper-Ferguson), the husband of the eldest daughter Sarah; Julia (Sarah Jane Morris), Tommy's wife; and a mysterious woman (Patricia Wettig) trying to bring down the Walker family's business.
