In 1952, when the country was carrying out the suppression of counter-revolutionaries, prisons in various places in Sichuan were overcrowded. In order to defend the fruits of victory and the new China, and to relieve the pressure on the local government, a special force known as the first labor reform public security force in China was formed. Under the conditions of no high walls or power grids, extremely limited police force and equipment, they escorted tens of thousands of prisoners westward to Leima Ping; and built a prison farm in the uninhabited Leima Ping. During the arduous escort and the construction of the Leima Ping prison, we not only have to protect and educate these prisoners for reform, but also guard against the surprise attacks and jailbreaks by the remaining Nationalists and armed bandits at any time. Internal and external enemies often collude and conspire secretly, preparing to escape or rebel at any time. In the play, there are bewildering situations where the enemy is within us and we are within the enemy, as well as the cruelty and bloodiness of the struggle between rebellion and anti-rebellion.
