Sankar is a doctor at a large hospital in Mumbai, and Asha is the sister of Arun, Sankar's best friend from university. Although the two have never met, they learn a lot about each other through Arun and quietly develop an interest in one another.
On the other hand, Shweta, an intern doctor under Sankar, is in love with Akash, an unemployed young man. Shweta's mother, wanting to fulfill the wish of her father, who has been in a coma after an accident, arranges for her to marry Rahul, a childhood playmate. In the final moments before the wedding, Rahul discovers that Shweta loves Akash, and he cancels the wedding.
