In 1952, a nationwide campaign to suppress counter-revolutionary activities caused the prisons in Sichuan and other places to be filled to capacity. In order to protect the fruits of victory, defend the new China, and alleviate the pressure on the local government, a special force, which could be considered as China's first labor reform public security force, was formed. Under conditions with no high walls or electric fences, extremely limited police force and equipment, they escorted tens of thousands of prisoners westward into Leima Ping. They also built a prison farm in the uninhabited Leima Ping area. During the arduous journey of escorting prisoners and constructing the Leima Ping prison, we had to protect and educate these prisoners for their reform, while constantly guarding against attacks and jailbreaks by remnants of the Nationalist Party and bandit armed forces. Internal traitors and external enemies frequently colluded and plotted secretly, ready at any time to escape or instigate a prison riot. The story includes elements of enemy within us and us within the enemy, creating an atmosphere of mystery, along with the harsh and brutal struggle between rioting and suppressing riots. The characters resembling those from "Infernal Affairs" and peculiar anti-banditry plots under special backgrounds are intertwined with the main storyline of rioting and suppressing riots, making this story about prisoners, jails, and bandits seem fresh and unique.
