"Red Radio Waves" Episode 1 Introduction
In the late stages of the Pacific War, as Japanese forces made their final desperate struggle, they increased troop deployment to the Chinese front line in an operation known as the "Continental Transportation Line Campaign," aiming to connect the occupied areas in South China with Japanese-occupied Vietnam. This significantly heightened the pressure on the Chinese anti-Japanese battlefield.
The Allies devised the "Shanghai Express" plan, creating a false impression that the Allies were about to conduct a strategic landing in Shanghai, in order to alleviate the pressure on China.
American army captain Kagen was assigned the dangerous mission of conducting reconnaissance landings to deceive the Japanese forces. The Japanese Special Higher Police and the Wang Jingwei regime's Political Security Bureau simultaneously learned of Kagen's landing. Our party's underground worker Xu Shaoqing, embedded within the Political Security Bureau, and the Kuomintang intelligence agent Liu Yongqiang, hidden within the Special Higher Police, both successively discovered enemy movements. Prioritizing the larger picture of the war effort, Xu Shaoqing prepared to assist Kagen. After receiving the approval of his direct superior Xin Qing, Xu Shaoqing resolutely proceeded to the compromised rendezvous point, rescuing Kagen from under the claws of the Special Higher Police.
