"Red Radio Waves" Plot Introduction, Episode One
In the final stages of the Pacific War, as the Japanese army was making its last stand, they reinforced their troops on the Chinese home front to execute what was known as the "Connect the Mainland Transportation Line" campaign in order to link the occupied areas in South China with Japanese-occupied Vietnam. The pressure on the Chinese main battlefield against Japan suddenly increased.

The Allies formulated the "Shanghai Express" plan, creating the illusion that the Allied forces were about to carry out a strategic landing in Shanghai in order to ease the pressure on China. US Army Captain Kagen was assigned to conduct a "double agent" mission, risking his life to land and reconnoiter in order to confuse the Japanese army. Both the Japanese Special Higher Police and the Wang Jingwei regime's Political Security Bureau learned of Kagen's landing. Our party's undercover worker Xu Shaoqing, who was hidden in the Political Security Bureau, and the Military Intelligence Service agent Liu Yongqiang, who was concealed within the Special Higher Police, successively uncovered the enemy's movements. With the larger picture of resisting Japan in mind, Xu Shaoqing prepared to assist Kagen, gaining the agreement of his direct superior Xin Qing. Xu Shaoqing resolutely headed towards the compromised rendezvous point, rescuing Kagen from under the claws of the Special Higher Police.
