Following the events of the previous season, DIE continues to solve strange cases under Lang's leadership and eventually gets "honorably disbanded." Apart from Crystal taking a maternity leave and Officer Fee retiring back to his hometown in Scotland, the rest of the team returns to their previous work positions. However, their quirky personalities and styles remain unchanged, continuing to cause headaches for their superiors and facing exclusion at work.
During a large official event, the former members of DIE gather on-site for different tasks. Crystal, who happens to be nearby with her baby, accidentally enters a restricted area while habitually catching her arch-nemesis Big Mouth Ying in the middle of illegal activities. This triggers a chain reaction, leading to a chaotic situation that embarrasses the top police officer... The blame falls on the police high command, who then hold an emergency meeting. Lang's immediate superior, Luo Youheng, seeing this as an opportunity to get rid of troublesome subordinates, proposes reassembling DIE. This group of troublemakers, who can't be fired, is once again gathered together, left to fend for themselves. However, since the original DIE supervisor Officer Fee has retired, Heng is forced onto the stage, reluctantly accepting the responsibility of supervising DIE.
Upon hearing about the reformation of DIE, Crystal becomes very eager and requests to end her maternity leave and return to work. But due to Lang's patriarchal mindset, he tricks Crystal into agreeing to take a year-long break to focus on being a full-time mom and taking care of the baby. Later, when Lang's trickery is uncovered by Crystal, she refuses to be manipulated by Lang and decides to apply for reinstatement on her own. Returning to the Major Case Team, Crystal collaborates with newly arrived high achievers whose personalities and styles clash like Mars colliding with Earth. Additionally, Crystal had previously offended the top cop, so her superiors fear she might drag down the Major Case Team. They use this as an excuse to transfer Crystal back to DIE. Back at DIE, Crystal entrusts her baby to various family members for care. However, this leads to differing opinions between Crystal's mother and grandmother over how to care for the baby, resulting in constant quarrels day and night. To avoid a family feud, Crystal's father orders her to personally take care of the baby. Thus, Crystal brings the baby to work, where the DIE team takes turns caring for the baby, creating a series of comedic situations...
Heng, eager to quickly rid himself of difficulties, constantly overworks everyone and intentionally splits up DIE, forcing Lang and Crystal to lead separate teams in case-solving competitions. Initially, Lang and Crystal just do their respective duties, but Lang, with his psychic abilities, solves cases one after another, putting their team far ahead in performance... Meanwhile, Crystal unintentionally discovers that the baby seems to have inherited some incredible supernatural abilities from Lang, often able to foresee answers to things, helping Crystal make correct choices and repeatedly turning danger into safety. Doubtful yet hesitant, Crystal temporarily doesn't inform Lang about this. Crystal, not wanting to inadvertently get her subordinates fired, secretly uses the baby's supernatural abilities to assist in investigations, impressing others. However, Lang eventually finds out about this, feeling very dissatisfied. He fears this could negatively affect the baby's growth and strongly opposes Crystal's abuse of the baby's abilities, further straining the relationship between Lang and Crystal. At this time, Lang encounters his first love, Wen Chuchu. Lang works hard to help clear Chuchu's name in a murder case, making Crystal extremely jealous, causing a cold war between the couple... Unexpectedly, Xiao Yi reappears, but it turns out this Xiao Yi isn't the real Xiao Yi... Whether it's because Lang thinks about her all day, he dreams of meeting Xiao Yi, who gives him a shocking warning in the dream, indicating that the life-and-death destiny between Lang and Crystal remains unresolved. Although Crystal giving birth to their baby temporarily avoided disaster, as the baby grows older, misfortune will return, and Crystal will face mortal peril again. Just as Lang is half-believing this, the major villain from the previous season, Zhen Xiangrong, suddenly reappears before Lang and Crystal... It turns out this person is actually Zhen Xiangrong's twin brother, Zhen Xianghua, who has been secretly hospitalized in a foreign psychiatric hospital due to mental issues. This visit is part of his revenge plan...
As for Qing, seeing Lang and Crystal get married and continue the family line, she feels it's time to start pursuing her own ideals and studies abroad alone. Yi initially doesn't think much of it, waiting patiently for Qing to return after finishing her studies and marry him. However, they don't realize that their feelings are already in crisis... Since Qing left Hong Kong, the business of Yiexianqian has relied solely on Mei and Pei's hard efforts. When Pei encounters difficulties at work, she seeks Yi's help. Yi, thinking of himself as a co-owner of Yiexianqian, repeatedly helps despite his reluctance. Through this, Pei recognizes Yi's kindness, positivity, and optimism, greatly appreciating him, and they become good friends. As time passes, Qing living abroad feels a change in her life goals and secretly reveals her thoughts to Lang and Crystal, hoping they would persuade Yi not to wait for her any longer... This matter is unintentionally discovered by Pei, who feels it's unfair for Yi and can't bear to see him continue preparing for an impossible wedding. Thus, Pei teaches Yi various romantic methods to express his feelings to Qing far away in a foreign country, hoping to save this precious relationship...
