Spring of 1949, during the intense battle of Huangma Ridge Campaign, Nationalist Army Brigade Commander Lan Zhenghong was putting up a fierce resistance against our army's attack with the mother-child fortresses. Our Huayou Army Battalion Commander Tie Liang decisively organized an assault team, disguised as Nationalist soldiers, and infiltrated the enemy's position. While destroying the mother-child fortress, he was seriously wounded and fell unconscious. However, Lan Zhenghong mistakenly believed Tie Liang, who was dressed in Nationalist uniform, to be a hero of the Nationalist Army, and sent him to Shanghai for rescue. This marked Tie Liang's first trip into the city.
