Introduction to the Full Plot of "Underground Above Ground":
"Underground Above Ground" is adapted from the same-name novel by Shi Zhongshan, featuring a powerful cast including Ren Chengwei, Han Xue, Wang Yajie, and Wei Zi. The series expresses the dedication and passion of our party's "underground" workers towards their ideals and beliefs. With a profound historical sense and rich humanistic sentiment, it serves as a significant tribute to the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Compared to the original work, in addition to retaining the thrilling spy plot, the emotional segments of several main characters have been significantly expanded, making the storyline even more dramatic. The series consists of two parts: "underground" and "above ground." "This role-switching is one of the major features of the plot in 'Underground Above Ground.'"
The story takes place on the eve of liberation, where our party's "underground" worker Liu Kezhao infiltrates the Shenyang station of the Nationalist Party's Confidential Bureau. He engages in wits and courage against the "above ground" military intelligence agents, making remarkable contributions to the peaceful liberation of Shenyang by our army. After liberation, Liu Kezhao and other "underground" workers transitioned to "above ground," working in the public security bureau with the responsibility of clearing out the remaining spies. Xu Yinchu and other military intelligence agents, however, refuse to accept defeat; they secretly remain dormant, continuing to oppose the new people's government. The confrontation between Liu Kezhao and Xu Yinchu resumes both "above ground" and "underground." Ultimately, Liu Kezhao and his comrades use their wisdom to successfully thwart the enemies' plots one after another, safeguarding the fruits of victory. The entire story is full of suspense and twists, incorporating large-scale action scenes such as explosions and pursuits reminiscent of Hong Kong films, as well as tender moments of love amidst the war.
