As a tribute piece for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the large-scale anti-Japanese war-themed TV series "The Stormy Carved Flower Building," led by Zheng Ping and Chen Rui, will be broadcast on Shanghai Television Drama Channel starting tonight (September 3rd). Actors Du Zhiguo, Wen Zhengrong, Wu Jing, and Lü Liang also join as guest stars. Yesterday, the main creators of the drama, Zheng Ping, Chen Chuang, Wang Junyi, and Cheng Sihan, appeared at the premiere press conference held at Shanghai Television to promote the show. The director of the drama, Ma Lu Jian, was unable to attend due to shooting a new series, "The Stormy Border Town," in Fenghuang, Hunan.
"The Stormy Carved Flower Building" showcases the rise and fall of a silk-rich family in Jiangnan over sixty years, along with their emotional entanglements, reflecting the success and failure of national industrial and commercial enterprises. Zheng Ping, who recently starred in CCTV's "Heaven," plays the lead female role of Yao Zhiyun in this drama. Zheng Ping stated, "Yao Zhiyun in 'The Stormy Carved Flower Building' should be a 'Liu Hui Fang'-style character from the 1930s and 40s. Compared to 'Heaven,' playing this role feels more effortless."
