Synopsis of "Love in a Fallen City":
In the 1930s, Shanghai. The Bai family, once renowned as prominent scholars during the Qing dynasty, has fallen into continuous decline, depleting their wealth and struggling to make ends meet. To arrange a decent wedding for Bai Liusu, the sixth daughter of the Bai family, the matriarch tries to raise money from various branches of the family. However, the third and fourth sons' families, Bai Liangyue and Bai Liangyong, respectively, shirk responsibility, leading to bickering among the sisters-in-law over petty accounts. This is Bai Liusu's first taste of the cold realities of life. Bai Liusu marries Tang Yiyuan, the son of the Tang family, one of the richest families in Shanghai at that time, causing a great stir.
