Plot Summary:

"Queen Seondeok" tells the story of Princess Doman (played by Lee Yo-won), who was abandoned as a child due to an ominous prophecy but grows up to become Queen Seondeok of Silla after relentless efforts and power struggles within the palace. Under the control of the beautiful Mi-shil (played by Ko Hyun-jung), King Jinpyeong and Lady Maya give birth to twin daughters. However, for the king, having twins is considered extremely unlucky, signifying "the end of royal lineage." Reluctantly, King Jinpyeong orders his second daughter, Doman, to be sent away, but Mi-shil sends assassins to eliminate her. At a critical moment, Doman is saved by the legendary Hwarang member, Ven-u, who devises a plan and entrusts her to King Jinpyeong's maid, So-hwa, to raise. So-hwa takes Doman to the deserts of China, raising her in a small inn. Doman's greatest rival, Mi-shil, uses her exceptional beauty to gain the favor of King Jinheung and seize control of the palace. Ambitious Mi-shil ensures the young King Jinpyeong ascends the throne after King Jinheung's death.
