Introduction to The Man Who Can't Marry:
The TV series "The Man Who Can't Marry" is adapted from the Japanese TV drama of the same name that aired in 2006 and became very popular. It tells the story of a stubborn bachelor who gradually opens up his heart.
Cho Jae-hee, an architect running a building firm, has enviable economic conditions and architectural talent. However, because he does not know how to get along with others and never considers their feelings, he often conflicts with clients and people around him. His eccentric personality also leads him to ignore others' gazes as he monopolizes a six-person table in the restaurant to enjoy his food alone. Jae-hee, who doesn't want to marry and prefers to enjoy life alone, is seen as a freak by those around him. However, the arrival of his neighbor Jeong Yu-jin disrupts Jae-hee's original life. Yu-jin is a college graduate who has just entered society. Coming from a poor family, she paid her tuition fees by working part-time during her studies and has a clear understanding of economics. Unable to pay rent, Yu-jin moves into a distant relative's vacant house and becomes neighbors with Jae-hee. Initially disapproving of Jae-hee's lifestyle, Yu-jin gradually develops feelings for him as they spend more time together. Yu-jin's boyfriend of three years, Tae-ryeol, was originally a student at a prestigious university but has failed the bar exam for two consecutive years, becoming an unemployed vagrant who does nothing all day, causing increasing dissatisfaction in Yu-jin. Yun Gi-ran, a straightforward and eloquent classmate of Jae-hee and partner in his architectural firm, complements Jae-hee's design talents and social ineptitude with her own average design skills but excellent interpersonal abilities, forming a dream team in the construction industry. Despite warnings from his seniors, Tae-ryeol decides to endure Jae-hee's eccentricities and submits his resume to Jae-hee's firm to learn from him. In the process of working, Tae-ryeol forms a deep friendship with Gi-ran, who is both like a sister and a mother to him.
