Plot Introduction:

"Queen Seondeok" tells the story of Princess Dae-man (played by Lee Yo-won), who was abandoned as a child due to an ominous prophecy. Through relentless effort and navigating power struggles within the palace, she grows up to become the first queen of Silla, Queen Seondeok. Under the control of Mi-seuk (played by Ko Hyun-jung) who wields significant influence in the royal court, King Jinpyeong and Lady Maya give birth to twin daughters. However, for the king, the birth of twins is considered highly inauspicious, foretelling the "extinction of sacred male lineage." Reluctantly, King Jinpyeong orders someone to send away the younger daughter, Dae-man. Yet, Mi-seuk dispatches her own people to secretly pursue and eliminate Dae-man. At a critical moment, Dae-man is saved by the ingenious plan of Venu, a legendary Hwarang figure, who then entrusts her to King Jinpyeong's servant, So-hwa, for care. So-hwa takes Dae-man to the desert regions of China, raising her in a small inn. Dae-man's greatest adversary, Mi-seuk, uses her extraordinary beauty to gain the favor of King Jinheung and seize control over the palace. Ambitious, Mi-seuk installs the young King Jinpyeong on the throne after King Jinheung's death.
