Introduction:
"Queen Seondeok" tells the story of Princess Dae Man (played by Lee Yo Won), who was abandoned as a child due to an ominous prophecy. Through relentless effort and navigating power struggles within the palace, she grows up to become the first queen of Silla - Queen Seondeok.
In the scenario where Mi Shil (played by Ko Hyun Jung) wields great power in the harem, King Jinpyeong and Lady Maya give birth to twin daughters. However, for the king, the birth of twins is considered extremely inauspicious, signifying the "end of the royal male line." With no other choice, King Jinpyeong sends away the younger daughter, Dae Man. But Mi Shil secretly sends her people to hunt down and kill Dae Man. At a critical moment, Dae Man is saved by none other than Moon Nu, a legendary Hwarang figure, who devises a plan to rescue her and entrusts her to Jiso Hwa, one of King Jinpyeong's maidservants. Jiso Hwa takes Dae Man far away to the desert regions of China, raising her in a small inn.
Dae Man's greatest rival, Mi Shil, uses her exceptional beauty to win the favor of King Jinheung and gain control over the palace. Filled with ambition, after King Jinheung's death, she installs the young King Jinpyeong on the throne. When King Jinpyeong's wife gives birth to twin daughters, Mi Shil plans to use their lives to threaten him and directly seize royal power. However, Moon Nu and Jiso Hwa foil her plan by rescuing Dae Man. Despite this setback, Mi Shil does not abandon her ambitions for the throne. She plots to make her husband ascend to the throne and views Dae Man's twin sister, Princess Cheon Myeong (played by Park Yi Jin), as a thorn in her side.
