Introduction to the plot of The King's Bride:

A miscommunication about the king's marriage proposal forces Xiuying, under her brother's hasty arrangements, to marry a scholar she has never met. However, upon verifying the misinformation at the wedding ceremony, Tiger, who has always despised scholars, immediately stops the marriage! Poor scholar Zhou Wenbin proposes to Wang Xiuying, but is rejected by Mrs. Wang, Xiuying's mother. Xiuying's brother Wang Tianbao, nicknamed "King Tiger", uses his wealthy family's power to abduct beautiful women everywhere. On the Lantern Festival night, Zhou Wenbin and his friend Zhu Zhishan make a bet that he can dress up as a woman to watch the lanterns without being recognized. As a result, the woman dressed as Zhou Wenbin is abducted by King Tiger. Unwilling to "get married" that night, Zhou Wenbin was placed in the younger sister's room by King Tiger. Unexpectedly, this leads to his marriage with Wang Xiuying; the next day, Zhu Zhishan comes to look for him, and Mrs. Wang has no choice but to allow her daughter to marry Zhou Wenbin. The brave but witless King Tiger (Charlie Chan) can't bear the pressure from his mother Bingti Liu (Shirley Wong) to get married. He mistakenly abducts Zhou Wenbin (Jimmy Chan), who is dressed as a woman, back to the mansion as his wife. Impulsively, he temporarily places her in his younger sister Wang Xiuying's (Dingxin Hu) bedroom for the night. To protect his sister's honor, Tiger has no choice but to arrange an engagement between Wenbin and Xiuying, while setting harsh rules to humiliate Wenbin. With his quick wit, Wenbin devises a plan to use the female knight Wu Sanshan (Evonne Su) to counterbalance Tiger. He misleads Sanshan into believing that Tiger is the long-thought-of benefactor who saved her life years ago. Then, he sets a trap for Tiger to abduct Sanshan again and bring her back to the mansion. After their marriage, Sanshan, determined to reform this wicked tiger, stages daily taming acts in the Wang residence, nearly driving the fiery-tempered Tiger mad. Having successfully escaped Tiger's clutches, Wenbin should be living carefree, but his arrogance and interference spark a series of conflicts... All characters and plots have changed the traditional steps of the drama, creating a new situation for "The King's Bride".
