Plot Introduction:
Story Outline: Chen Ximei (played by Hania Chen), a female peasant who lost her father at a young age, has a straightforward personality and is determined to fight for the people's rights. Thus, she is deeply loved by the villagers of Liangcai County. Unfortunately, her excessive enthusiasm and rash impulsiveness lead her to mistakenly treat the newly appointed agricultural official, Xie Huangshang (played by Frankie Ng), as a thief. As a result, the two become sworn enemies, and Xie Huangshang tries to avoid Ximei whenever possible.
Xie Huangshang's father, Xie Chongtian (played by Xia Yu), in order to ensure his son's smooth career, specially arranges for the highly intelligent Dai Congwen (played by Lai Yiu Cheung) to provide strategies and advice. Additionally, four constables named Zhou, Fen, Mian, and Fan are assigned to protect Xie Huangshang day and night. However, Xie Huangshang falls victim to the schemes of corrupt officials in Changsha and faces the risk of being tortured by ten cruel punishments. Fortunately, Ximei and Congwen arrive just in time, presenting the white jade bowl bestowed by the previous emperor as a symbol of immunity from death. Unexpectedly, the jade bowl turns out to be fake. In a moment of crisis, Congwen devises a clever plan to save Xie Huangshang.
Through numerous shared hardships, Ximei gradually develops feelings for Xie Huangshang.
