"Queen Seondeok" Plot Introduction:
"Queen Seondeok" tells the story of Princess Deman (played by Li Yaoyuan), who was abandoned as a child due to an ominous prophecy. Through relentless efforts and power struggles within the palace, she grows up to become the first queen of Silla - Queen Seondeok.
Under the control of the concubine Misil (played by Gao Xianzheng) in the harem, King Jinpyeong and Lady Maya gave birth to twin daughters. However, for the king, giving birth to twins is extremely unlucky, foretelling the "end of the sacred bone lineage." Reluctantly, King Jinpyeong sent someone to send away the younger daughter Deman, but Misil sent her people to secretly pursue and kill her. At a critical moment, Deman was saved by the legendary Hwarang figure Wen Nu, who then handed her over to be raised by King Jinpyeong's maid Zhaohuo. Zhaohuo took Deman to the desert regions of China and raised her in a small inn. Although married to Kim Ryeongse (Park Jeongcheol) and having given birth to her son Kim Chunju (Yu Seungho), Tianming Princess developed feelings for Kim Yusin (Yan Taixiong) who had once saved her life. Kim Yusin, a renowned general of Silla with exceptional martial arts skills, accidentally saved Tianming Princess from being assassinated by Misil's confidants. Arranged by Tianming Princess, Kim Yusin met Deman and developed feelings for her while helping Princess Deman achieve her grand dream of unifying the three kingdoms, becoming a loyal supporter of Deman. With the help of Kim Yusin, Princess Deman gradually dismantled Misil's forces and ascended to the throne as the first queen of Silla.
