Also, in the middle of Season 3, a major event will occur that causes some of the main characters to disappear. Another significant change is that Season 3 will feature more scenes set in the outside world, not just focusing on the island. In terms of romance, there will be more romantic storylines. The relationship between Pen and Desmond may enter a new phase, with Pen organizing a private expedition team to enter the restricted area to rescue Desmond. The writers of Lost also revealed that they plan to produce Season 4 and 5, but the specific plans will depend on the response to Season 3.
