Which is longer, the time before birth or after death? After posing this question, the film delves into a meditation on the physical life and death. First, death arrives as the male protagonist Kenji dies from sarin gas poisoning; two years later, his girlfriend Haruko meets a client nicknamed "the Grim Reaper" during her work in the sex industry (these are the first two scenes of the movie).
