After a series of confusing rumors about the viewership ratings, it has been confirmed that Takuya Kimura's new drama Mr. Brain episode 4 will officially air on May 23rd. In the show, Kimura's character encounters an accident which enhances his brain's cognitive abilities, transforming him into an eccentric neuroscientist dedicated to solving a series of cases. His assistant is portrayed by Haruka Ayase. Kimura, who has played countless diverse roles, mentioned that the character Ryuji Tsukumo is rather comical, with a quirky personality and striking fashion sense, far from being handsome. It's reportedly the strangest and most bizarre role he's ever played. Following the success of "Detective Galileo," each episode of this show will feature cameo appearances by major stars, including Ryoko Hirosue. The first episode of Takuya Kimura's new drama "Mr. Brain" set a new high for spring season ratings, reaching 24.8%, surpassing last year's hit drama "Change." In the story, Kimura plays Ryuji Tsukumo, who suffered a head injury while working as a male host five years ago. Afterward, his brain mysteriously developed, allowing him to join the Scientific Investigation Department as a genius scientist, using neuroscience to solve difficult cases and furthering research in brain science. Haruka Ayase, who previously collaborated with Kimura in "Heroic Lawyer Special Edition," takes on the role of the "assistant," while Hiroshi Mizushima, fresh from his role as a stylish butler in winter dramas, plays a detective. Moreover, each episode invites big names from the entertainment industry for guest appearances. The first episode featured Kabuki actor Ebizo Ichikawa and Ryoko Hirosue, the second episode welcomed singer Gackt, and the third episode starred Kamenashi Kazuya, Kimura's junior from the same agency.
