The 20-episode TV series "Xiao Gu Da Xi" adapted from the novel "Ren Jing" written by well-known Henan author Tiancen Li will soon be aired on CCTV. The book tells the story of a rural youth, "Lai Si", who is a drum singer that travels from village to village. With his unique grassroots wisdom, slightly rogue-like persistence, and an optimistic attitude towards life, he undergoes hardships, twists, and failures before finally understanding the true meaning of life.
After the novel "Ren Jing" was adapted into the TV series "Xiao Gu Da Xi," the lead male role "Lai Si" will be played by Yiyi Zhao, the leading actor of major dramas such as "Da Zhai Men" and "The Fiery Years." Moreover, the character Gui'er, referred to as the "perfect woman" in the novel, will be portrayed by young actress Liu Fangyu, who will play opposite Zhao Yi. Additionally, Danchen Yan, a graduate of the Beijing Film Academy's Class of 96 Acting Department, will play the role of Wei Na, the "other woman" in the drama. The theme song for the TV series will be performed by Lei Han, known as the "King of Film and Television Songs."
