In the mid-1980s, Colonel Luo Yangba, who already had three daughters - Deqi, Xueqi, and MeiQi, was hopeful that his wife would give birth to a son. His mother-in-law was also certain that this time it would be a boy. However, the result was another girl. In a fit of frustration, Yangba decided not to have any more children and thus named this daughter 'Zhongqi,' meaning 'the final Qi.'
Xueqi and MeiQi are twin sisters, but in terms of appearance and personality, they are completely different individuals. Although Xueqi is not as beautiful as MeiQi, she studies diligently and is the most favored daughter by Yangba. She is currently preparing to take the entrance exam for the Army Academy. On the other hand, MeiQi shows no interest in studying and focuses solely on her appearance. Therefore, whenever the report cards are announced, one receives praise while the other receives punishment. The eldest daughter, Deqi, did not want to follow her father's wishes and marry a soldier. Hence, she married Gyu Suhan, whom her mother introduced her to, after only meeting him three times.
