Shen Han's friend who is pursuing a doctorate, Zhang Yutong, happens to be a key technical member of Shengyang Machinery Factory, an old rival of Zhongbei. Shen Han ultimately reaches an agreement with Zhang Yutong to jointly develop the SZ project. Unexpectedly, Zhang Yutong's husband, Ji Hanguang, after failing in his business, steals the disk containing the SZ research results, preparing to sell it to Zhongbei's competitor. Upon discovering that the buyer for the SZ project is Yingzhou Heavy Industries, which is ambitiously trying to swallow up Zhongbei, Ji Hanguang has a change of heart and throws the disk into the sea, thus avoiding a major loss.
