The story of "Pearl and Gem" revolves around three sisters with different personalities and temperaments. The eldest sister, Kang Yayan (played by Shaw Mei-kei), is stubborn and tough, passionate about her work; the second sister, Kang Yatung (played by黎姿), values love above all else and pursues romance; the youngest sister, Kang Yasi (played by Rachel Tai), is competitive and confident, pursuing fame and fortune. In the eyes of their mother, Bai Xiaoru (played by Lee Siu-chi), the three daughters are as precious as diamonds.
