According to the New York Times, "Why are humans so smart?" This is a question of interest to scientists. Tadruzi Kavitz, an evolutionary biologist at the University of Friborg, wanted to study this question. Dr. Kavitz asked, "If being smart is so good, then why are most animals still so foolish?" Kavitz and like-minded scientists are trying to figure out why animals learn and why some animals have evolved to be better learners than others. Their research has found that one reason for this difference is that being smart might be detrimental to an animal's health.
