Hubei pond's 80,000 tonnes of water mysteriously disappears with a loud roar

The Guanyin Pond in Xiacunba Village, Baiguo Township, Enshi City: about 80,000 cubic meters of stored water suddenly disappeared. Local villagers are amazed and hope experts can solve the mystery.

Xiacunba Village is about 19 kilometers away from the urban area of Enshi. Yesterday, the reporter saw at the scene that the pond is round, with a diameter of about 100 meters and tens of meters deep. The pond has dried up, leaving black mud at the bottom.

Villagers said that the water surface of the pond is usually level with the ground, and it does not dry up all year round. The water is emerald green, with a storage capacity of about 80,000 cubic meters. At around 7 o'clock on the morning of April 26th, a vortex suddenly appeared on the calm water surface, accompanied by a roaring sound. In less than 5 hours, the entire pool of green water disappeared, revealing black mud. A villager surnamed Chen went down into the pond alone and caught two big fish weighing more than 10 kilograms each, but there were no large numbers of fish in the pond.
