Yesterday at 9:00, Mr. Zhang called: I am from the Dongtianmu Mountain Scenic Area in Lin'an. A few days ago, we dug out several strange large stones. They can be attracted by a magnet, and they are much heavier than the surrounding stones. Could they be meteorites?
There are three strange stones in total, with irregular shapes close to elliptical. Their widths and heights are roughly 2 meters and 1.5 meters respectively, and each weighs around 10 to 20 tons. The surface of the stones has a layer of material about 2-3 millimeters thick, which appears black-brown or brown, with rust-colored streaks, as if it had been subjected to high-temperature calcination. When a magnet (2 cm thick, 5 cm square) is placed flat on the strange stone, there is a noticeable attraction force. If the magnet is attached to the vertical cross-section of the stone, it also sticks firmly.
