Two elementary school students made a suicide pact and left a will saying "it's the teacher's fault that we died"

After school in the afternoon, two elementary school girls from Funan drank pesticide in their classroom. Before poisoning themselves, they left a message on the blackboard: "If we die, blame the teacher." Why did they do this? After being saved, the two girls said that the teacher always deliberately picked on them because they didn't attend the supplementary classes organized by the teacher. In response, the involved teacher cried out for injustice and claimed that the supplementary classes were free of charge. The Education Bureau of Funan County's statement was basically consistent with the teacher’s account, saying the reasons "should be multifaceted."

At around 5 PM on October 24th, after school at the Second Elementary School of Chengguan Town in Funan County, students were returning home one after another. No one expected that an alarming scene would occur at this time.

Yesterday, a witness student told a reporter that he saw two girls walking on the school playground, one of whom suddenly fell to the ground, foaming at the mouth, and her face turned pale. "We happened to pass by and quickly gathered around," he said. The fallen girl had already fainted, and the accompanying girl was almost crying in panic. Soon, she also showed the same symptoms.

Seeing this sudden situation, some students hurriedly ran to call the teacher. Soon, teachers arrived at the scene and called 120. After the two girls were sent to the hospital, the doctors diagnosed them with poisoning symptoms. It wasn't until the next morning that the two girls were out of danger and gradually regained consciousness. Shockingly, after regaining consciousness, they said they drank pesticide in the classroom. Then, parents found half a bottle of dichlorvos in one of the girls' backpacks.

"We agreed to commit suicide together"

The two students are 12-year-old Xiao Ying and 11-year-old Xiao Li (both pseudonyms), sixth-grade students at Chengguan No. 2 Elementary School. As of yesterday, they were still in the hospital, although their bodies were gradually recovering, but they became somewhat taciturn.

Yesterday afternoon, after some communication, Xiao Li recounted the entire incident to the reporter. "We agreed to commit suicide together," Xiao Li said that she and Xiao Ying had a good relationship, and they had the idea of committing suicide a week before the incident.

On October 23rd, Xiao Li, who lived in the countryside, secretly took a bottle of dichlorvos from home and brought it to school. The next afternoon, after school, after all the classmates in the classroom had left, they drank the pesticide in the classroom. "I drank more, she drank less than me," Xiao Li said that after drinking, they put the remaining pesticide back in their bags and prepared to go home. On the way to the playground, the drug effects set in. Fortunately, they were discovered in time and managed to survive.

"If I die, blame the math teacher"

Why would good students agree to commit suicide? "I simply couldn't believe it when I heard it. How could such young children do something like this?" Yesterday, Xiao Ying's father Mr. Wang said that he usually didn't criticize his daughter, so he suspected that this matter was related to the school and the teacher.

A classmate of Xiao Li told the reporter that later everyone saw a sentence written by Xiao Li on the blackboard in the classroom: "If I die, blame the math teacher."

Yesterday afternoon, Xiao Li admitted to the reporter that she wrote this sentence before taking the medicine. Xiao Li said that the math teacher asked her to attend supplementary classes, and if she didn't, her seat would be arranged in the back or against the wall. "She kept making me sit in the back, and my classmates all laughed at me." The math teacher always deliberately picked on her, targeting her in class and calling her name frequently. "I can't take it anymore."

Regarding the reason for suicide, Xiao Ying gave a similar explanation, believing that the math teacher never paid attention to her. "She never cared about me and always made me sit in the back. Once, the Chinese teacher moved me to the front, but she soon moved me back again." Xiao Ying believed that the teacher hurt her self-esteem.

The teacher feels wronged and hasn't criticized them

Last night, the reporter managed to contact Ms. Jiang, the math teacher of Xiao Ying and Xiao Li. Regarding the students' messages and their claims about the reasons for suicide, Ms. Jiang repeatedly stated that she felt wronged.

"I provided supplementary classes outside of school at the request of the students' parents, as a voluntary service, completely without charge, and absolutely not arranging seats based on whether students attended supplementary classes. Seats are arranged according to height and vision," Ms. Jiang said that Xiao Li and Xiao Ying usually performed well and were obedient. There were no signs of abnormality before the incident.

Ms. Jiang said that she had never criticized Xiao Ying and Xiao Li, nor had she ever mocked or ridiculed them. "I really can't figure out why they committed suicide."

Yesterday, the Education Bureau of Funan County also responded to this matter. Director Zhu of the bureau's office said that after the incident, the bureau took it very seriously and immediately formed an investigation team to conduct an investigation. According to preliminary investigations, Ms. Jiang indeed participated in supplementary classes, but these classes were free of charge.
